Elite Dangerous is a space simulator game by Frontier Developments based in the year 3306. Krait Mk II vs Python for Deep Core Mining. Seems a bit like the case of the type-6 and the keelback to me. No one will bug you when you’re out there mining, especially when you have a fighter bay! The Python is more reasonable choice for longer mining runs, because of the better/more internal space, but if you don't plane to sticking in the same mining spot for a long time (so filling up the bigger cargo space is not an issue), then I would go with the Mk.II. Just seems like it would take that much longer between runs and mining does get a bit grindy if you have bad luck finding core rocks.
So what's everyone else's thoughts between these two ships for deep core mining? So I think it pretty much comes down to jump range+SFL vs larger cargo. Great storage capacity, terrible hard point placement. I hate having to reconfigure the internals all the time. Anaconda! I cover large areas very quickly, so I'm just constantly finding new cores. That's what I did, my Python was my mission engineered ship, swapped all the modules to the Krait and was good to go.
Have both, started with the Python, but then swapped to the Krait. New mining is all about speed (more ground covered = more deep core detonations = more profit). Only difference in optional internals seems to be that the Python has one more Size 6! That said I have both a mining Python and a part-time miner Krait mk II. You can blast off 5 chunks off of surface deposits at a time so you can fill 104T with 4 rocks, which takes about an hour on average. In this video, we look at three different fully engineered builds for the wonderful Krait Mark II. Its basically a slightly worse python with a Keelback fighter bay, gutted the jump range is so average, was hoping to make a nice exploration ship that isnt a diamondback/asp exp or conda. The Krait Mk 2 and Python's hardpoints don't allow for as much convergence making it harder to get a perfect shot. I dislodge my chunks in one or two blasts. But with a Class 5 shield configuration (since I don't plan on fighting in this thing), is the extra 64 cargo space really worth it given how long it takes to fill up 160 tons in the first place? The Krait Mk II is one of, if not the best multipurpose ship in the game. Same main internals!!!
might make a better all-around material hunter. Press J to jump to the feed. To me it feels easier to strafe around the rocks with the Krait. But the Krait makes up for it with the ability to equip a SLF! Don't disagree with you about the SLF but a fighter can help distract/divert heat from your mothership.
Went through the same debate myself, but sided with the Krait MkII. I'm maybe one of the few that does this but I use a clipper. Would be nice to have some more stealth hacking megaship comms arrays for data mats. I'd skip a fighter though, the best mining spots don't really have hostiles. So I actually might look into that. It's faster and more agile than the Krait II, jumps further as well, and doesn't allow for any pesky SLFs to act as a distraction. Shields and armor a bit better on the Python! Krait. The Mk II is faster and more agile, longer jump range, and allows the option to use an SLF.
And the difference is actually in toy-hauling. I can't, for the love of me, decide which of these two ships would be better for deep core mining. Krait Phantom. The Mk II is faster and more agile, longer jump range, and allows the option to use an SLF. The Krait MkII is a leaner, meaner alternative to the Python, featuring almost identical module and hardpoint specifications. I was thinking Orca too, but I like the option of being able to pit stop in outposts if needed. The larger cargo isn't really gonna offset that in terms of cr/hr. Krait feels better to me, with better manueverability. I use my Python a lot to run cargo delivery missions with a 280t hold. So, it's a better ship than Python in my mind except latter still hold the best multipurpose ship. The python is bulkier, meaning tougher but slower. In my opinion ofcourse and its only worth what you put in it :D. I have both of them fully engineered and enjoyed the mining in the Mk.II more. The official unofficial subreddit for Elite Dangerous, we even have devs lurking the sub! You can fill up with 4 rocks with a 96T+8bin hopper (104T total) and 5 abrasion blasters. I like it.
Discussion. I think the python will be more efficient but I’d rather enjoy myself in the process. Normally, shields have an inverse relationship with hull - i.e., more shields = less hull and vice versa. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the EliteDangerous community. And the difference is actually in toy-hauling. In terms of profit the AspX is making about 15,000,000cr more per asteroid than the other two.
edit: in practical terms with the AspX you can reliably get about 27-30 void opals out of a single rock. i.e. I personally feel like the Krait is a better min/maxed fit for deep core. All that said, the Python and the Krait use the same size core modules so just engineer up some modules and try them on both and take the one you like the best. I can't, for the love of me, decide which of these two ships would be better for deep core mining. The cockpit placment is nice, and put your lasers on the sides for extra cool factor. © Valve Corporation. You only need one seismic charge launcher to blow up 4 rocks.
That said I have both a mining Python and a part-time miner Krait mk II. All trademarks are property of their respective owners in the US and other countries. the Python has enough space that you can squeeze in an SRV for surface prospecting. Thanks. Builds . I've found that ~100-160t is the sweet spot time wise for the average deep core run for me to fill up. But the speed is what I love. Fighter hangers also come in C5 with one fighter only. Thanks, that seems to be the general consensus. The Krait Mk 2 allows you to fit an SLF which can be handy for distracting pirates while you run away.

The official unofficial subreddit for Elite Dangerous, we even have devs lurking the sub! The best speed. The idea that you can turn one deposit into 5 by shooting it with 5 blasts is like saying you can have a baby in one month by impregnating nine women.
4560: 00 ptb_pausecmd_t. 5x, actually. Press J to jump to the feed. If you want to maximize profits the Asp Explorer's closely nested four small hardpoints allow you to quadruple every surface chunk of a cracked asteroid. The Python has that extra size-6 internal, plus I feel with engineered A-class thrusters it's fast/agile enough, though jump range would suffer. Both are excellent but I feel the python is best suited for it. The only practical difference I can see is that there's an extra 6 slot in the Python and it's a tad less nimble than the Krait would be, and it's 11m more presuming stock parts.
This is why I'm on my 4th Orca. Lots of cargo capacity as well as room for all the tools I need. All rights reserved. Otherwise it was pretty much all subjective as I liked the open view and centered chair as well as the sort of rough around the edges look inside the ship with the wires and access panels opened up. sounds like fun from a certain perspective but is not how reality works. I've been using the krait phantom for my all around ship. Funny, I was looking for an earlier thread comparing the internals between the Phantom and the Mk II, and I saw a user suggesting the Clipper, saying it’s better than both. It depends what you want to do. Has this been acknowledged yet by FDev as a bug? Elite Dangerous is a space simulator game by Frontier Developments based in the year 3306. Or helping you take down the pirate if your ship has any weaponry.
It is fast, has a great view, is maneuverable, and can be equipped with a ton of power—this medium-size ship is made for everything. I currently use a Python but it has way more cargo than I need. Really once you get used to the hard point placement it's not hard to use abrasion blasters. I'd much rather have an extra size 6 slot than an SLF. just watched the live stream! I'm so torn. The python just bores me silly. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. If you do loads of this, you'll soon have enough to buy a Krait as well. the Python has enough space that you can squeeze in an SRV for surface prospecting. You control your own spaceship in which you can participate in exploring a 1:1 scale Milky Way, trade between star systems, participate in bounty-hunting wanted ships, and even pirate other ships for their cargo. with the Krait or Python you're looking at closer to 17-20 opals. And before you tell me to fly what I love, I own both and love both.
:D its better than expected! Krait is fun af. Ha ha, I did the exact same thing. Español - Latinoamérica (Spanish - Latin America), http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Krait_MkII.
The python is bulkier, meaning tougher but slower. The Krait's advantages over the Python are its lower cost, lower hull mass, higher speed, improved handling, higher jump range potential, and the ability to carry a Fighter Hangar, but these are balanced by the Krait having one less Class 6 internal compartment as well as weaker armour and shields.
