They can get so stuck in their dreams that they fail to asses the risks that threaten those dreams. The best leaders are ones who accept blame when things go wrong and give credit to their team when things go right. More than anything, employees have great respect for those who lead by example. As a leader, being able to identify such poor leadership qualities could be useful in avoiding them altogether.

You shouldn’t have to use fear or intimidation to get things done. These are the bosses seen mostly wandering around the office with a cup of tea, “managing” everyone. Mistakes are only mistakes if they make the boss look bad.

Leaders must understand the problems their team faces, and then begin doing anything to remove barriers to entry so their team can do the best job possible. Manage up. Listening to all employees as often as possible is so important to building a loyal and faithful team.
On the other hand, bad bosses tended to be inconsistent with their goals.

Step one is to be aware of the things pegging you as not-so-awesome. Any leader is only as good as his or her team’s desire to be led by them. Bad leaders often have an inflated sense of their own abilities, which leads them to always think they're right or their the best at everything. Think about the difference in how you feel thinking about one versus the other.
While a good leader knows that life is a continual process of self-growth, a bad leader believes that they're perfect already. A great manager can admit when he is wrong; a terrible one never admits that he makes mistakes at all.
This will help everyone come together as a team, focused on the problems that need solving for the long-term benefit of the company.

The very worst bosses will publicly humiliate or shame an employee as a motivational tactic — either for him or the rest of the team.
You can change and become a great leader. Bad leaders struggle to delegate responsibilities - even when they have talented employees and partners. We all know you. Beyond the negative impact on individual employees, ineffective managers can also cost companies tons of money in turnover and lost productivity. This practice and effort to be self-aware grows your business and helps you align with your workforce.
Everyone makes mistakes, but when bad leaders err, they don't take the opportunity to change their mindset and learn from their mistakes.
